To ensure fair play, player safety, and a positive experience for everyone, the Fort McMurray Women’s Soccer Association follows the rules and guidelines set forth by the Alberta Soccer Association and Canada Soccer.
The following are some specific FMWSA rules we would like to highlight.
Guest Players:
Please note that any guest players must be registered with FMWSA.
Teams with seven or fewer players on the field may use a guest player(s) from another FMWSA team. However, this will result in an automatic forfeit of the game. The use of 2 or more guest players will result in a forfeit.
Apparel:
All registered players must wear a FMWSA jersey.
An exception is made for the FMYSA players who will wear their own designated team jersey.
All players must wear appropriate shin guards and have them fully covered by soccer socks.
All players must wear indoor shoes when playing indoors. Players are encouraged to wear indoor soccer shoes.
Absolutely NO jewellery is to be worn at any time.
No hard headbands, clips or hair claws allowed as they may cause injury.
Disciplinary Policy:
Red Card:
A player receiving a red card is automatically suspended for the team’s next game.
Yellow Card:
A player receiving two yellow cards in a single game is also suspended for the next game.
Forfeit:
Any team that allows a suspended player to participate in a game will automatically forfeit.
